Over 200 flags were placed on veteran graves

ATASCADERO — On Friday, May 27, several Atascadero Elks members participated in pinning the U.S. Flag to those members who lost their lives during their service at the Atascadero Cemetery. There were over 200 flags flying to thank those who served and protected us during those wars.

The Elks has a motto, “So long as there are veterans, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will be there to lend support and ensure these brave men and women will not be forgotten.”

The Elks were honored to see many servicemen and women who served to protect our country. There was one grave that had World War I, II, and the Korean War. What a tremendous career service this gentleman gave his life for his country. The Elks would like to thank all servicemen and women for their service, living or not, by protecting our country.
