Officers were unable to locate three suspects who invaded and robbed a home in Atascadero

ATASCADERO — Atascadero Police Department is investigating a home invasion robbery that occurred Thursday afternoon, June 2, in the 5400 block of Capistrano Avenue in Atascadero.

Officers responded to the call just after 2 p.m. after a female called 911. She reported her neighbor ran into her yard, saying three masked men entered his residence, assaulted him, and began to steal property from his house.

After arriving, officers learned a male and female were at the residence when someone knocked on the door. The female opened the door, and three masked men forced their way inside. One male was armed with a handgun and one with a knife.

The three men went to the bedroom where the male resident was located and assaulted him, demanding money. The male and female residents were able to go outside.

It was initially reported the suspects left the location in a vehicle, but that was later determined to be inaccurate.

The suspects fled on foot.

After checking the area, officers were unable to locate the suspects. All three suspects were described as white male adults, one wearing a white tank top, one wearing a black jacket, and one wearing a grey sweatshirt.

The Atascadero Police Department Investigations Unit is actively investigating the incident.

This is a developing story that will be updated as more information is available.
