UPDATE (DECEMBER 21, THURSDAY, 02:35 PM):

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office has released names of the male and female found deceased in a Creston home following an apparent shooting incident.

On Wednesday, Dec. 20, Sheriff’s received a 911 call from a female who was involved in a family disturbance with another male family member at a home in the 2700 block of Calf Canyon Highway in Creston. Sheriff’s Dispatch heard what was suspected to be gun shots in the background during the 911 call.

According to the sheriff’s office, deputies were immediately dispatched to the location and upon arrival, they located a deceased female and deceased male inside the residence.

Sheriff’s Detectives began an immediate investigation. It was determined the disturbance was between a stepdaughter, Maria Quesada and her stepfather, Arturo Quesada who were both residing at that location. At this time, it is believed this is a murder-suicide where Arturo shot and killed Maria and then killed himself.

This is an isolated incident with no threat to the public.
The investigation is ongoing.

UPDATE (04:14 PM): When arriving on the scene, deputies discovered the bodies of a deceased male and female.

Detectives remain on scene conducting the investigation.

This is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public at this time. The ID of the deceased are pending notification of next of kin. The investigation is continuing. No further details are available at this time.

CRESTON — The San Luis Obispo County Sheriffs are currently investigating a shooting that occurred on the 2700 block of Calf Canyon Highway in Creston.

The incident occurred earlier this afternoon. According to the Sheriff’s Office, detectives are en route to the scene.
