Elsie Ada (Ferguson) Blomgren, 103, Cupertino, widow of Earl Blomgren, died July 9, 2020 at Cupertino Health and Wellness Center. Born 11/30/1916 to James and Annie (Largen) Ferguson. Loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, aunt and friend. She moved to the Garden Farms in the Central Coast of California as a child, attending Atascadero (Margarita Black) High School. She married Earl at age 17 and raised 3 children (all born in Atascadero). They moved to the Bay Area in the late1950’s.
Elsie enjoyed sewing, flower arranging and cooking and her daughters remember fondly the wonderful cakes and pies she baked nearly every day. Elsie was a Girl Scout and Brownie leader in Atascadero and a very active square dancer in the 1930s and 40s. Over the years she sewed baby clothes, doll clothes, Halloween costumes and prom dresses. She was a prolific and talented artist and left dozens of beautiful oil paintings.
Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Earl and son Gary, her sister Hilda (Atascadero), brothers Georgie, Elmer and Robert and her son-in-law Jim. She is survived by her daughters Mimi Blakely and Kathie Campbell and son-in-law Jay Campbell, 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 3 great great granddaughters.
