Hannah Evelyn Read Kropp, known by most as Evelyn Kropp passed away Tuesday, Nov. 5 in Ypsilanti, Mich., at the age of 95. It was very peaceful passing with her family surrounding her with love and care.

Evelyn was born in Colorado on Oct. 13, 1924, to Stanley and Hannah (Widen) Read. When she was 6, they moved to Upland, where, many years later, she met and married the love of her life, Earl Kropp. They farmed in Chino until 1958 when they moved to a farm on Creston Road in Paso Robles. In 1969, they left farming to transition into the world of repair and retail by starting Kropp’s Vacation Trailer and Camper. There she did the books for the business until the 90’s when they sold the shop and retired. She loved to tell people that she spent every day with Earl and could not imagine why anyone would with for something different. Earl passed away in 2004. In 2011, she moved to Michigan to be with her daughter’s family.

Evelyn is survived by four of her children, Jeanne Power of Ypsilanti, Michigan, Alice Part of Santa Maria, John Kropp of Paso Robles, and Eric Kropp of Prunedale, plus her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Marie Ritzel and Anne Gomes Predeceased her.
