Atascadero junior golfer Katie Burson is the Atascadero News and Paso Robles Press Girls Golfer of the Year for her performances this season on the golf course. Burson finished as the medalist (first place) in 11 of the 18 tournaments she played in and advanced all the way to the CIF State qualifying tournament where she shot an 83.
Burson played her best nine hole round at her home course of Chalk Mountain in Atascadero against the SLO Tigers on Oct. 10 when she carded a 38 and her best 18-hole score at League Finals when she shot a 78.
