Showdown Cornhole Tournament

The third annual Atascadero Kiwanis and Knights of Columbus Showdown Cornhole tournament will take place on Saturday, Sept. 22 in Sunken Gardens. Last year’s tournament made the event the largest one of its kind on the Central Coast with 64 teams participating. Organizer Mike LoPicolo said that more than 100 teams are expected this year.
“The Atascadero High School Greybots robotics team has been chosen to receive the proceeds from this year’s tournament,” LoPicolo said. “The Kiwanis and Knights chose the Greybots because a major focus of both clubs is to help the youth and youth programs in
our community.”

20th Annual Winemakers' Cookoff Set For Aug. 11

Get ready for one of the biggest wine and food events on the Central Coast of California! The 20th annual Winemakers’ Cookoff is set to take place on Saturday, August 11th from 6 p.m.-9 p.m. at the Paso Robles Event Center.
The event, sponsored by the Paso Robles Rotary Club and presented by Stifel Financial Corp., brings visitors from all over the country to this community to showcase the quality of life we all share here in Paso Robles. While guests enjoy food and wine from 30 different local wineries and specialty breweries, local high school students benefit in the form of college scholarships awarded by Rotary from the proceeds of this event.

Signs of life at Atascadero Printery

Engraved atop the Historic City Hall Administration Building is a quotation of focused optimism by town founder E.G. Lewis that face the Atascadero Printery building. His declaration to see the sun, and not the shadows was tested in 2003, just days before Christmas, the San Simeon Earthquake shook the Central Coast to its foundation.
