Though she is no longer able to volunteer in person, she has found a meaningful way to continue her legacy of service
ATASCADERO — Rosemary Dexter of Atascadero is turning 100 on Jan. 7, 2025, and she’s marking her milestone birthday in a truly inspiring way. In gratitude for a century of blessings, Rosemary is launching a $100,000 fundraiser to support the ALF Food Pantry, formerly known as Atascadero Loaves and Fishes, an organization close to her heart.
The ALF Food Pantry has a critical need for a larger facility to accommodate its growing client base and safely store and distribute both perishable and shelf-stable food. Recognizing this need, Rosemary, whose late husband, Rev. Rollin Dexter, co-founded ALF in 1984, is stepping up to help. Though she is no longer able to volunteer in person, Rosemary has found a meaningful way to continue her legacy of service.
Her centennial fundraising campaign seeks to raise $100,000 to expand and improve ALF’s facilities, ensuring the pantry can serve the community with dignity and care for years to come. To amplify the impact, Rosemary is personally matching the first $30,000 in donations.
“This, I can do,” Rosemary said, as she invited the community to join her in making a difference.
Contributions are already coming in, with $8,992 raised on her GoFundMe page and an additional $6,000 sent directly to the pantry.
