306 graduates honored for achievements, scholarships, and bright futures
ATASCADERO — Under clear June skies and surrounded by proud families, faculty, and friends, Atascadero High School proudly celebrated the graduation of 306 seniors on Wednesday, June 4. The evening was marked by speeches, applause, and reflection on the journey that brought students to this milestone moment. Leading the class were Valedictorian Kieran Dolan and Salutatorian Nathan Robasciotti, both recognized for their exceptional academic achievement and leadership.
The Valedictorian for the Class of 2025 is Kieran Dolan, graduating with a remarkable 4.63 GPA. Dolan has set the bar high both academically and athletically. In addition to his scholastic achievements, he broke both the league and school record in backstroke this year — remarkable accomplishments that reflect his work ethic and drive, both in the classroom and in the pool.
In the fall, Dolan will attend UC Santa Barbara to study mechanical engineering and plans to join the club triathlon team. He hopes to pursue a career that blends engineering with human biology and performance, driven by a desire to improve lives and make a meaningful impact. Some of his favorite memories have come from competing with his teammates on the swim and cross country teams. He credits the motivation of being surrounded by ambitious and supportive peers as a key part of his success.
Dolan’s advice to others: Do things that make you feel proud of yourself. He extends heartfelt thanks to his family for their unwavering support, and to his coaches and friends for helping him grow into the young man he is today.
AHS Principal Nikki Baca said, “Kieran is truly someone who excels in everything he does — and does so with humility, character, and quiet determination. He is the very definition of what it means to be a Greyhound.”
The Salutatorian is Nathan Robasciotti, graduating with an impressive 4.54 GPA. Robasciotti will be attending Harvard University to major in integrative biology, with plans to pursue medical school, specialize in dermatology, and eventually open his own surgical practice. But what stands out even more than his ambition is his ability to connect with others — from his tennis teammates and ASB classmates to the many groups he’s embraced at school.
“He’s known for being focused, driven, and intellectually curious — but also for sharing laughter when it’s needed most, even in the quietest of classrooms,” Baca shared. “Nathan, we are proud of your accomplishments, inspired by your determination, and excited to see what you’ll do next.”
Robasciotti, who also served as ASB president, opened the ceremony with a welcome address that resonated with pride and gratitude.
“Standing here today, I’m filled with gratitude and pride — not just for what we’ve accomplished as individuals, but for what we’ve achieved together,” said Robasciotti. “We’ve faced challenges, celebrated victories, and grown into the people we are now, ready to take our next steps. Tonight is a celebration of our hard work, our resilience, and the friendships that made it all worthwhile.”
The Class of 2025 collectively earned an impressive $265,900 in scholarships. Their post-graduation plans reflect a diverse and ambitious group of young adults. Thirty-six graduates will be heading to four-year universities — including 10 to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and one to Harvard University. A significant number, 143 students, have chosen to continue their education at community colleges, with 138 enrolling at Cuesta College. In addition, four students will pursue vocational training through trade schools, and two graduates will bravely serve their country by joining the U.S. Marine Corps.
Baca later opened her personal speech by celebrating the Class of 2025 for their resilience, unity, and the many ways they’ve left their mark on Atascadero High School. She praised their collective strength and spirit, highlighting individual achievements that exemplify the class’s diverse talents — from record-breaking athletic performances and award-winning FFA members to leaders in the arts, media, and student government.
“You are a class that doesn’t just show up — you rise to the moment, lift each other up, and leave nothing on the table,” Baca said.
Turning the focus toward the future, Baca spoke candidly about the swift passage of time and encouraged students to live life with intention and purpose.
“Life is short. And you only get one shot at it so do something that matters,” she reminded them. “When your hourglass runs out of sand, you can’t flip it over and start it again, so take every breath for what it’s worth and don’t take a single day for granted.”
She emphasized the importance of taking chances, embracing failure as part of growth, and never letting time slip away unused. Her message was clear: live boldly, laugh often, and always remember your worth.
Baca closed her address with five pieces of heartfelt advice:
- Listen to your inner voice — make choices that align with your own values.
- Be kind — it leaves a lasting legacy far beyond accomplishments.
- Take care of your people — relationships are the true core of life.
- Don’t wait — for perfect timing or permission to start something meaningful.
- Know your worth — and never let anyone make you feel otherwise.
With these words, she sent the graduates into the next chapter of their lives with wisdom, encouragement, and deep pride. As tassels were turned and caps thrown skyward, the ceremony closed with cheers and hugs, symbolizing both the end of a chapter and the start of countless new beginnings.
Congratulations to the Atascadero High School Class of 2025!
