The San Luis Obispo County Office of Education (SLOCOE) continues to provide regular updates regarding schools. SLOCOE, all school districts, charters, and schools are responding to the statewide COVID-19 Shelter-At-Home order while continuing to serve our students, their families, and the community.

  • All schools within our county will continue to deliver distance education to all students until it is safe to resume in-person instruction and after consultation with health and government officials.
  • All Local Education Agencies (LEAs) continue to sanitize school facilities as an essential government function and re-sanitize when any staff access school facilities.
  • Food distribution for students continues throughout the county at multiple LEA sites as an essential function of government. For all non-school families, information can be found at slofoodbank.org/covid-19-response/ or call 805-238-4664.
  • Briefings from Public Health, the San Luis Obispo County Office of Emergency Services, the Governor’s Office, the State Superintendent of Public Instruction, and the Department of Finance are shared with all schools regularly by SLOCOE.
  • All districts, charters, private, and parochial schools are receiving regular briefings.
  • All districts, charters, private, and parochial schools have access to the San Luis Obispo County
  • Office of Education’s Education Technology Portal (ETC) for online educational resources.
  • SLOCOE is working with local vendors to provide Internet access for all students.
  • SLOCOE has established an online donation site to support food insecurity, access to technology, and emergency childcare resources for our schools at www.slocoe.org
