“Veterans Day is an important day not only for the Elks Lodge but for our community and the entire country,” expressed Atascadero Elks Lodge Exalted Ruler Ronnie Maxwell. “It is important that we never forget the sacrifices that our veterans have made so that we all have the freedoms that we enjoy every day.”
The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, both nationally and locally, remains dedicated to the well-being and recognition of veterans. As part of their commitment, the Atascadero Elks Lodge annually hosts the Veterans Appreciation Dinner, along with the Veterans Car Show on Father’s Day. Moreover, they continuously introduced additional programs, such as the Warbirds Museum Tour, which offered free museum entrance and complimentary breakfast and lunch for all veterans last year.
Since its establishment in 1987, the Atascadero Elks Lodge has made significant contributions to various community programs, including youth activities, local sports, assistance for handicapped and underprivileged children, patriotic initiatives, and veterans’ support programs. Additionally, the Elks actively participate in drug awareness programs within local schools and distribute dictionaries to all third-graders in the area.
The Atascadero Elks Lodge, founded on Sept. 26, 1987, is committed to promoting values like charity, justice, brotherly love, and fidelity. Their mission extends to recognizing a belief in God, fostering member welfare and happiness, enhancing American patriotism, cultivating fellowship, and ensuring the perpetuation of their fraternal organization. Above all, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America is dedicated to serving the people and communities through benevolent programs, exemplifying the spirit of giving and community support.
