Business will offer free sandwiches and organize a fundraising event to support K9s for Warriors

ATASCADERO — Colony Market and Deli announced its second annual Veterans Day event on Friday, Nov. 10, where the community comes together to honor active military personnel and veterans by offering free sandwiches and organizing a fundraising event to support K9s for Warriors. Last year, this event was a success, giving away over $1,000 worth of sandwiches and raising $5,000 for the noble cause.

On Nov. 10, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Colony Market and Deli will express its gratitude to those who have served and continue to serve our nation by providing free sandwiches to all active military personnel and veterans who visit the deli. This gesture is a small token of appreciation for their dedication, sacrifice, and service to the country.

In addition to the free sandwiches, Colony Market and Deli will host a day filled with exciting activities to raise funds for K9s for Warriors, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing service dogs to veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), traumatic brain injury (TBI), and other service-related conditions. The fundraising event will include raffles and a silent auction, with all proceeds going to this essential cause.

“We are thrilled to host our 2nd Annual Veterans Day event, and we hope to surpass last year’s efforts in honoring our veterans and supporting K9s for Warriors,” said Joanna Wemple, co-owner of Colony Market and Deli. “Our local community came together in a remarkable way last year, and we are determined to make an even greater impact this year.”

Last year’s event saw an outpouring of support from the community, and Colony Market and Deli is committed to building on that success. The $5,000 raised last year made a significant difference in the lives of veterans who have received service dogs from K9s for Warriors.

Colony Market and Deli invites everyone in the community to join them on Friday, Nov. 10, to participate in this heartwarming event. Whether you’re a veteran, an active military member, or a supportive community member, your presence will make a difference.
